The Whorl is full of strange and monstrous beings. Many are the descendants of the followers of Ratri and Ravana during the Godswar, twisted into new forms the better to slaughter their foes. Others are the results of dark and secret experiments by wizards or warlocks seeking to unlock the mysteries of life. Without Mahadeva, the new King of the Gods does not have the power to restrict such tinkering.
There is always a need for brave and stalwart men and women at arms to hunt the monsters down in their lairs to keep Civilization safe from the rampages of savage, bitter creatures. Still, a monstrous countenance does not always mean a monstrous soul. One can often find such twisted beings living in society, reaping the benefits of civilization, while tolerating the stigma and sleights of their untwisted neighbors.
